OPPORTUNITY:
 Furniture Maker / Woodworker

Job Description:

Do you work in a custom cabinet shop but daydream about making furniture? Do you have years of experience working from drawings to build just about anything, but find yourself bored to tears with making boxes, over and over again.

At Alabama Sawyer, we make furniture. We mill all our lumber from the urban forest right here in Birmingham, Alabama. We revel in the raw materials and strive to innovate and improve everyday.

You will be milling raw materials and building furniture, millwork products and a variety of small wood products. 

Work experience and skills with woodworking as well as different woodworking machines required. You should have experience working with solid wood and be comfortable working with miter saws, routers, table saws, shapers, jointers, sanders, planers, etc… You should be able to work safely, efficiently and effectively and be prepared to clean up and work as part of a team.

OTHER BASICS: basic math skills including fractions, understand and build from shop drawings and a read tape measure. CNC, CAD/CAM experience welcomed.
