Delivery and Returns
Online store shipping rates are set up for as many options as possible, but sometimes the combination of destination, weight or current inventory blows the computer's mind and you just have to reach out to us. If you would like to arrange for shipping outside the US or check for other options with your specific order, please contact us at office@alasaw.com. All requests for international shipping are subject to approval.
We make every effort to ship in-stock orders within 1-5 business days. If your item is made to order, please refer to the item’s product page for current lead times. We do not ship on weekends or holidays. Please allow 10 days for your order to arrive. This may change during peak times, like the week before Christmas.
Alabama Sawyer does not deliver. We ship our product in a variety of ways, depending on the size, weight, quantity, destination and requests of the buyer.
Alabama Sawyer is not responsible for service transit times or delays.
Small Parcel
Small parcel shipping refers to individual packages weighing less than 150 pounds sent through regular carriers like UPS, USPS and DHL. This type of shipping adds 3-15 days in addition to lead time, depending on location.
Small Package Expedited shipping rates requested after 2 pm EST will be processed the next business day.
White Glove
White glove delivery is a service, that we contract with professional companies (including Plycon, Distinguished Transport and uShip carriers) to pick up the piece, protect and transport to the home or final destination. Items are delivered inside, placed, possibly assembled and all waste is removed. This method adds 7-21 days in addition to lead time, depending on location.
LTL/FTL
LTL can be the most economical way to ship large items. Less than truckload / LTL shipping refers to a truckload shipping method used for transporting a shipment which is larger than a parcel but light enough or small enough that it doesn’t require a full truckload. Free space on the truck is shared by other shipments from other shippers or carriers and likely will change trucks at various distribution centers.
Items must be crated or palletized.
For delivery, there is limited communication about when truckers will arrive and they will simply leave the palette on the dock or at the curb. LTL shippers will charge for waiting, limited access or residential or other extra unplanned services. Any unexpected charges for shipping in setting up or after delivery will be passed on to the customer.
LTL shipping prefers a dock or forklift on site, or charges extra for a lift gate. LTL shipping can be considered for residential delivery, but it not always a good fit. Please contact us if you have questions about LTL shipping.
Hybrid / Final Mile
With some items, furniture is crated or palletized, transported via LTL, but the last leg of the delivery includes inside placement service.
Local Transport
Within the region on Birmingham, AL we can hire a local transport company to deliver one or many items, locally, to homes, businesses and warehouses from Nashville, Tennessee to South Alabama, from Atlanta, Georgia to Oxford, Mississippi and to other Southeastern cities.
Customer Pick-up
Store pickups are available for pickup Monday-Friday 8am-3pm. It is always best to pre-arrange the time. Please note that clients or third party couriers must provide their own packing materials and load their own vehicle. We are unable to provide packing materials or blanket wrapping, unless previously arranged.
Shipping to a Warehouse or Storage Facility
Your piece will arrive on a protected palette or in a wooden crate, it will be you or your receivers responsibility to unpack and bring the piece inside your home.
Alabama Sawyer requires that all shipments be inspected and approved within 2 business days of receipt of merchandise by the client or the warehouse facility and to alert Alabama Sawyer of any shipping damages or discrepancies within that time frame.
Alabama Sawyer will not be held responsible for any damages or discrepancies after the 2-business day time period. Alabama Sawyer is not responsible for any damages that occur while in the care of a warehouse or storage facility or additional transit thereafter.
International Shipping
International orders are subject to duties and taxes determined by the country to which they are shipped. These fees are the responsibility of the recipient to pay upon delivery. Orders refused at the point of delivery will incur return shipping charges, as well as a restocking fee equivalent to the duties and taxes levied upon the original shipment.
We are required by law to list directly on the package the full retail value of items ordered and contained therein. We cannot mark any package as a gift to avoid customs and duties fees. On rare occasions, customs agents may delay the delivery of, open, and/or examine the contents of packages at their discretion. For more information on customs fees and procedures, please contact your local customs office.
Returns & Exchanges
Our return and exchange policy is valid for 14 days after you receive your order. If 14 days have passed since you received your order, unfortunately we can’t offer a refund or exchange.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
To be eligible for a return or exchange:
Your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be in the original packaging and returned in resell-able condition. When returning an item to our warehouse, please pack with care to prevent any damage during shipping. Any return or exchange that has been damaged in return transit, altered, or shows any sign of wear may not be eligible for a full refund and will be charged for repair and at least a 10% Restocking Fee.
Once your return is received and inspected at our warehouse, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, a refund will be processed and applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 3-5 business days. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Exchange items will be released as soon as your return is received and approved at our warehouse.
Damages in transit
(Insurance, Repairs, Replacements...)
In the unfortunate event that your item is damaged in transit, please alert Alabama Sawyer within 2 business days of receipt.
If you are using a receiver, share this information with them.
Please provide photos of your damaged item, the label and its packaging. Do not sign a BOL without noting damage otherwise there is no way to file and insurance claim.
Each delivery company (small parcel, ltl or white glove) has their own process that we are required to follow in order to be reimbursed or initiate a repair.
Alabama Sawyer does not control this process or timeline. Alabama Sawyer will provide information and communicate any information not otherwise provided by the shipper.
"FOB origin" means the seller is responsible for the goods until they are loaded onto the carrier at the seller's location. The "ownership" is then transferred to the carrier. This means the dispute about the damage is between the shipping company and the buyer.
Small Parcel: We recommend with small parcel or UPS/USPS packages to purchase ShipInsure at check out. This makes the insurance claim process quicker and easier. Shipinsure allows ONLY 14 days to file your claim with ShipInsure.
LTL: Damage claims must be filed within 14 days of delivery. If Alabama Sawyer is the shipper of record will file this claim.
White Glove: Damage claims must be indicated immediately. The shipper generally requires "first right of repair" which means they have the right to attempt to repair any damages before conceding the repair process to the seller and buyer to orchestrate or before considering a payout.
Alabama Sawyer does not control this process or timeline. Alabama Sawyer will provide information and communicate any information not otherwise provided by the shipper.
Items not eligible for return:
Final sale items include customized items, scratch and dent, gift cards and sale items. No refunds, exchanges or credits will be issued for these items.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, please first check your bank account for a posted or pending credit. Then contact your credit card company or bank, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. If you have completed these steps, but have still not received your refund, please contact us at office@alasaw.com.
