We were looking to replace our large but rather ugly green plastic bin. We love our Alabama Sawyer wood countertop compost bin. It has a large capacity, is  perfectly proportioned, and the interior metal container is easy to keep clean. The exterior walnut is beautiful to look at.  I highly recommend this product.

Have used this for almost a year. Attractive and suppresses all smells. We put vegetable cuttings in it for our chickens. Because of the stainless steel and tight lid even after a week there is no odor. Highly recommend

Small and sharp defect on top

I’m only rating 3 stars due to the fact that I ordered a full price new bin, not a dent and scratch option, and there was a small but very sharp divot on top edge. I have returned it and am waiting for a replacement bin. Once it arrives, I will update to a 5 star! The wood was beautiful!

The Noaway Wood Countertop Compost Bin - very pleased

Vermont took a very big step this year in banning food scraps from the trash and landfill.  With just a bit of thought and planning, this is very doable.  It's best to collect your scraps where you're working.  The Bin is a beautiful part of our kitchen.  A beautiful walnut box next to our cutting board.  Convenient and it holds a good amount.  The stainless container within the wood is great.  Cleans easily with no odor.  Well made.  You may ask "but the cost for a compost bin".  I believe I received value for my spend, for something that will outlast me.  I spend more time in the kitchen than elsewhere in my home, and to be surrounded by functional, beautiful products is a pleasure.

we went with this product because it was sustainable and it was from a small American company even though the price was steep and in spite of the fact there was a very similar product on amazon (not American) that was less than half the cost.  we were using a random container for compost before and we wanted something more sophisticated as well as something that would seal tighter to keep out fruit flies.  while it's a beautiful product i was disappointed when we opened the lid and a bunch of fruit flies came out.  i guess i was hoping for a tighter seal of the lid.
