Knife Base Mahogany Bench | Reclaimed Wood

Our Knife Beam Bench in Mahogany stain utilizes reclaimed pine logs for a rustic wood bench. Narrow and backless, the simple lines express the texture, color and character of the face grains and end grain of each beam of wood. The 12" x 12" beam is milled and finished to sit on a morticed and patinated, modern steel base.

Reclaimed wood reduces the devastating impact of deforestation and keeps valuable resources from being landfilled.

The knife base can be applied to any of our beam benches. The primitive beauty of our beam bench with a captivating, mahogany or a custom stain demonstrates Alabama's local urban wood sources expanded to replace exotic or imported woods with unknown supply chains.

Dimensions: 62" L x 12" W x 17" H (as shown) with with a Mild steel base with Black Patina, rustic pine with a mahogany stain and urethane finish.

Note on Materials: Cracks are part of the rustic beauty of these pieces. If the finish cracks or chips, you may see some raw pine underneath. You may notice differences from piece to piece or to images on the website or between samples received. There is no stain, so the color may vary. This is a quality of natural wood. The knots and cracks that you may see will not cause structural deficiencies as they are an organic aspect of the wood. We view these elements not as flaws, but as reminders of the tree from which each piece is born. Natural materials will age over time and with exposure to the elements—the more exposure, the quicker they will age. Expansion and contraction due to temperature variability may occur. They will age with integrity when cared for appropriately. 

Wood Care: If outside, the urethane should be scuffed and reapplied as needed, approximately yearly, for best results. See our FAQs
